#question

Why is the frontend community (and JS in general?) changing so much?

  • Big names in the community are doing something else or went dark
  • Advertisement
    • Low quality influencers with their listicles
    • Higher quality (eg. Remix folks) still feels like advertisement
  • Flood of juniors as coding becomes popular
    • Web is the most popular domain and the easiest to get into
    • Less mainstream areas require more skill to get into

Is this affecting all software communities? Or only the bigger, more mainstream ones (eg. JS/Java/Ruby/Python)?

Has this happen before in other industries when they became mainstream?
