Blind spot

When driving away, overtaking, and in other maneuvers, you want to have the best possible view of the traffic around you. To be able to see the traffic is overtaking or passing you, check your interior and exterior mirrors regularly.
Yet the mirrors do not give a 100% view of the traffic behind or next to you. This means you run the risk of overlooking a car to the left or right of you. You can only see the traffic in these ‘blind spots’ by looking over your shoulder to the left or right.
It is important to properly adjust your mirrors to reduce the ‘blind spot’ area as much as possible. 7.3 Steering wheel, seats, and mirrors
