Ideas
This list consists of a dump of ideas as they show up in my brain, free for whoever wants to develop them. Ping me if you do ;)

- Digital fidgets => 2022-07-13 Some sort of digital fidget that replaces the need to check social media and help us stay focused on what we are doing rather than quickly jump to Instagram/YouTube/TikTok when waiting for something to compile or a PR review. Along the same lines, smoking breaks are something that smokers say they miss a lot when they quit smoking. Although quitting smoking is the right thing to do, having those breaks to think about nothing and everything at the same time is something they greatly miss.
- A website to post audio memos that will show the list of audios to you. Audios will be deleted after a day/week/month (depending on their length)?
- A very thin WebSocket service to synchronize slideshows with a fork of MDX Deck that uses this so others can watch your slides => WS as a service?
- General purpose tool vs. super niche ones
- Notion and Obsidian are general purpose writing tools, a lot can be achieved with them. Specially with the power of plugins in Obsidian and how crazy the community goes with them.
- Is there room for niche tools in the writing space? Eg. could it be useful to implement something like the method shown in this video? How to diversify your thinking: Goethe think and Teepe think
- Since different parts of the writing process involve different areas of the brain, maybe it makes sense to use different tools that are optimized for that process. => One challenge would be to make them compose, so that one could build their workflow seamlessly by piping information from one tool to the next.
- essay.app is another good example
- To read: Dynamic documents as personal software
- Typewriter style note taking app, only write, no delete. Mode for Obsidian?
- Simple design
- Your own “reasoning engine” => a library of documents sources from Readwise, Pocket, Obsidian, Notion, etc. saved on a vector database that a GPT powered chat can query.
