- Do you want to exit? Then drive on the correct side of the road about 600 meters ‼️ before the start of the exit lane. Recognize this point by the second signage.
- When approaching the exit lane, look in your interior mirror, right exterior mirror and over your right shoulder. This way you can see if there’s traffic behind you (which may also want to merge.)
- Turn your right turn signal 300 meters before the start of the exit lane, at the 3rd signage. ‼️
- Just before you enter the exit lane, check your interior mirror, right exterior mirror and over your shoulder to see if the road is clear.
- Then steer in a smooth movement to the right, into the exit lane.
- Only slow down once you are on the exit lane. Although, sometimes you have to adjust your speed in the main road, for example when approaching a busy or short exit lane.
- Once in the exit lane, you are not supposed to switch back to the main lane.
- The ‘UIT’ (out) sign indicates where the exit lane separates from the main road. Here you can turn off your turn signal.
- A white sign with a red bend arrow warns about the exit lane ending on a sharp bend.
Left: when existing on the left side, replace all ‘right’ to ‘left’.
Look twice to the right. When approaching the exit lane and just before you enter into it, look:
- rear-view mirror
- right exterior mirror
- over right should
⚠️ If merging into a slow or stationary traffic, then indicate 300 meters before the start of the exit lane with your turn signal that you want to exit and make eye contact with the driver of the vehicle behind you. Check in this way if you can safely exit?
